Orange Peeling 101

As you may or may not know, peeling oranges is my 1 true talent emoticon. I peel my oranges in 1 peel almost every time. Thought I would give some hints on peeling oranges so it won't be such a chore:

1) Never peel a cold orange... room temperature is MUCH better

2) Before peeling the orange, the skin must separate a bit from the fruit. In order to do this, simply roll the orange around on a hard surface applying some pressure. You can also hold it in both hands & press all the way around the orange.

3) Make sure your thumbnail of your dominate hand isn't too long. The thumb is the super finger of orange peeling and is the only finger which should go under the peel. If the nail is too long, it breaks the peel (and gets icky stuff under your nail which is hard to get out).

    LOL first let me thank you for the laugh!! Now let me tell you I don't typically eat oranges because they are just way to much work to peel. I may have to buy some and see how I do now that I have these tips. emoticon
