Miracle Noodles? Have you tried these?

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

I have heard Sparkers talk about shirataki noodles, but has anyone tried this specific one. I haven't tried any. I was trying to find the closest Whole Foods and this site popped up.

Did you ever try these miracle noodles out? I eat the Tofu Shirataki ones all the time instead of pasta. A lot of people do not like them because they smell a little fishy, but I wash them well and them cook them with tons of veggies and spices and it tastes great to me. Even my husband enjoyed it and couldn't believe they weren't actual noodles.

They are okay. A bit chewy but I sub for spaghetti or yakisoba noodles (drain them good then rinse and pan fry) in stir frys,

I usually use the tofu shirataki noodles and think they are a great sub for pasta. They are a lifesaver when I need a low cal dinner. Best with a thicker sauce I usually use a spicy veggie and crushed tomatoe sauce I make. I tried miracle noodles one time and thought they were similar. They tofu shirataki noodles are just more readily available in my area.

yesss ive tried them from the miraclenoodle website. though the yam shirataki ones you get in an asian food store are the exact same!! end up beign cheaper caus eof no S&H :) I dont think they are the greatest for like pasta substitutes BUT they are awesome in asian inspired foods liek soups, stir fries etc.

I tried them and personally, couldn't get past the chewy texture, and as another sparker said, they were completely tasteless without a good sauce. Even for zero calories I couldn't do it. I am a PICKY eater though!!

I have tried them, I got them from miracle, I think it is. They are okay, they are a bit chewy, and you have to have a good sauce to serve them with otherwise they taste like nothing. But hey, for zero calories, who's complaining??

I haven't tried that specific brand, but I've tried the shirataki noodles (everyone says they're the same) the shirataki noodles were sooo chewy. And I have consistency issues, so I couldn't get past that. like.. eating rubber. weird. haha

Hungry Girl I know raves about them as well as Rachel Mac but I haven't tried them. I should make that a priority this year sometimes as I can find them at the grocery store I shop at!
