Well, the running specialist that spoke to our clinic a couple of weeks ago said there will be runs that will be great, runs that you will enjoy, and runs where you wonder what the heck you think you are doing...Today was this for me..It was a day where I was out of town, so my eating (content and times) were not my usual, and I was a bit late arriving..so a bit wound up. Had spent a lot of the day walking..but wouldn't have thought that would matter. Yesterday morning we ran a bit over 5K, at a faster pace than normal
Okay, that sets the background for today's run. Started out okay, 2 min, into the first 10 min interval, and the rain hits...heavy driving rain, but no lightning or anything.Okay, I thought just keep going..Made the first 10 min..It was tough..then 2.5 mn into the second interval, I felt weak and light headed..I had to stop running ..After a minute or so, tried again..but only made another minute..
Really felt woozy..So, I walked most of the way, then ended with a 2 min run. I kinda held the group up..They were gracious, waiting for me at the end and doing their cool down stetches..and said 'hey, good job , you made it" but I was disappointed..
But, to take some of the advice I give to others..acknowledge the attempt, celebrate what I did accomplish, and move on to the next day...Think I will take tomorrow off and recover..Then on to Wednesday..always look forward..right???
