We started out Monday on our trip to Colorado. I had reservations for a cabin on the Big Thompson River. Two of the bedrooms and the deck were right on the river. I think the cabin was right out of the 1930's built when the tourists starting coming to the Rocky Mountains.

We took our fishing poles and Jake did some fishing. The first cast I threw got caught on a log. He went into the FREEZING river to try to get it unhooked but we ended up having to cut it off.

I loved being able to hear the river. There's nothing like that at home!

I took food and cooked our breakfasts and we made our lunches to take on our hike.

We made it!

Here are a few pictures on the trail.

Snow in July!

You know the cruise ship commercial where they don't see their teenage girl smile...except one time she does? Well, that was pretty much Jessi except here...when she got cell phone coverage for two minutes!

I'll post more later about the specific trail we took and our stops.
