I'm working out a lot more than I have in a very long time (usually about 2 hours of Zumba every day), and I'm eating about the same or even less. So, why am I not losing weight? It's very frustrating!!

You're going to love Zumba!! It isn't fun when it's hot though--I turn my AC down to 70 before I start! :)

Not to mention those midlife hormones - your belly fat becomes more metabolically (diabolically) active because it produces an estrogen-like hormone...It gets very stubborn!

Try using a heart rate monitor to track the calories you burn during your workouts - I find that the counters on the website underestimate the calories I'm burning.

I'm planning to try Zumba - was going to be on 7/6 but it was way too hot/humid, today am helping my son move - goal is 7/20!

Vicki--I absolutely LOVE Zumba!! I actually enjoy exercising for a change. :)
BeSusan--I've been doing the DVD's for about a month. I'm trying to stay within my calorie limits (between 1200 and 1500). I don't always make it but I'm eating a lot better than I did before. I ordered the SP lunch set today so I can be better about accuracy in measuring my intake. I do take Sunday off to recuperate and I try to vary my workouts so my body doesn't get to used to the routine.
Eloracgo--I hope you're right. I have lost 2 inches off my waist, 1" off my hips, and 1" in each thigh. I just get incredibly frustrated when the scale doesn't show any change. I do have a thyroid problem but I can't think it would make this much difference.
Snikwad--you're right--I do log my calories but I just haven't make them public.
Thank you all for your comments and encouragement!! You're all AWESOME!!

Do you like Zumba? I've heard of it but not really sure what it is.

How long have you been taking classes? How many calories are you consuming? Are you getting enough calories? Two hours a day? I'm not a trainer but when does your body have time to recuperate?

You're probably losing fat BUT building muscles at the same time, so, the gain equals the loss!!!

Keep it up, eventually the weight will go down because muscles burn more calories than fat cells do.
