Pregnant doesnt mean its over!

So lately I have been asked what my routine is while I am pregnant. So here it goes

Step 1 :
ASK! ASK! ASK! your doctor if what you are doing is okay for your health and the babies health.

Step 2 :
Immediately give yourself a mental note saying "YOU ARE PREGNANT" not a living garbage disposal because you have cravings. KEEP IT TOGETHER. so tasting a good craving here and there is great. Having a NO NO (see the mommy talk kicking in) craving EVERY DAY isn't.

Step 3:
The same way you can find out your BMI and how much you need to lose while dieting to be healthy, you also have similar programs and web sites that can tell you what a healthy pregnancy weight gain would be for your specific height and pre pregnancy weight.

Step 4:
once you know the direction you are going in and what you are allowed to do, FIND A WORKOUT that will Lightly give you what you need to get cardio in. For example I went from about 210 - 300 fitness minutes a week. down to 100 minutes per week @ 20 minutes per day.. now how bad is that? The work outs I continue to do are any work out tape, Moderate paced , NO JUMPING, NO LAYING FLAT ON MY BACK, OR CRUNCHES/ SIT UPS .
Jumping jacks you just stay grounded and lift one leg and arm at a time.. and WALK WALK WALK!

Step 5:
And for me this was big.. HOW MANY MORE CALORIES DO YOU NEED PER DAY WHILE PREGNANT? my doctor told me I only need a extra 300-400 calories per day. ACCORDING TO MY BODY. for someone else it may be different. But if you think about it thats only an extra snack or two per day. which again takes me back to . "I AM NOT A LIVING GARBAGE DISPOSAL SO DONT ACT LIKE IT" MODE!

Step 6:
Remember that you are pregnant and each day brings a new feeling , emotion, CRAVING! etc. main thing to do is enjoy the break and implement the healthy lifestyle you have learned into it. take it a day at a time. It is posible to stay on track and remain healthy while pregnant, and as one of your dear SPARK MOTIVATORS! I am here still in the game in a pregnant way . but i wont let you down! and YES I am still keeping an eye on all of you! LOL
