A Diet Book Of Life

It is important to note that I currently have every popular "diet book" that has been written over the last 20 years! Even now I struggle with buying whatever is the latest. I have finally come to realize that no matter what diet book you read or attempt to read, you will not lose weight until your mind is
ready, and you want to do it for yourself in order to be healthy, look good, feel good about yourself, and stay on the right track. I was so happy to find Sparkpeople! Even though I had gone away for a while, I knew I could always come back home. There are so many people here that motivate me to
be the best person I could be. I finally see that there are people who struggle with their weight just
as I have all my life. I am the only child of 7 who had the weight problem in the family. No one in the family ever made me feel any differently than them. I never heard the "f (at) " word. That is
probably why I kept the same eating pace all my life. But now I am older, married and I have a daughter that I can see is heading in the same direction. I don't want to pressure her, but I do want her to see that I am trying to get healthy, and I want her to do the same. I had lost over 100 lbs about
20 years ago, and I have kept off only about 40. I did a fad diet with very low calories so I didn't learn to eat properly. I am ready now. Hopefully I will have a story with a happy ending this time!

    I have quite a few diet books, myself. The good news is, they all work! Of course, right? They all reduce your calories. We already knew that, but gave our money anyway....
    I think Spark People might just be the glue that makes it stick. Positive group interaction and recording your intake seems to be the winning formula of long-term losers.
