Happy Independence Day!

Sunday, July 04, 2010

This year, our cub scout pack was able to use a donated trailer for our local 4th of July parade. With my husband's truck in the front, a few dollars worth of decorations, some donated straw bales, and some cub scout owned flags, we had our little parade float!

We ended up with a trailer full of scouts and leaders. Someone else in our pack took the picture of the full float, but here is a picture of me, my son, and my sister sitting on our 4th of July float after the parade was over.

Right now, everyone is taking an air conditioned break doing their own thing around the house. (Reading, resting, playing, blogging, whatever!)

In an hour or so, we will be eating homemade bbq chicken and fresh strawberry shortcake, then later tonight we are heading to the local firework show. Tomorrow is a paid day off for my husband, so I think we are planning an afternoon hanging out as a family and eating grilled corn on the cob.
