W1D3 Complete!

This morning I completed my first full week of the C25k program! emoticon
This run was actually a little harder than the other 2, which sucks, but I've thought about it a lot and I think there are three things that contributed to my sluggishness- not sleeping enough, not hydrating enough, and eating too much (I only had a serving of reduced fat wheat thins, but I still think it sat heavy in my tummy). Plus there was a serious head-wind that didn't help the situation.

That being said, I've set some goals to meet before starting Week 2 on Sunday:
1. Go to bed sooner;
2. Drink more water (at least 48oz daily); and
3. find a better snack to eat before my morning workout.

The first two are pretty simple- I just need to do it. The last one, however, is tricky. I've considered just not eating before going out, but my blood sugar is temperamental, so I don't want to risk passing out. Plus I have acid reflux AND take medications, so I need some kind of substance in my stomach when I take them. So I dunno...

any suggestions?

    Congrats on W1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'm another "eat only after the run". But, I know alot of people swear by a banana (or a half), or a piece of bread (toast) with a little peanut butter on it.

    As a side note... if W2 is still really hard at the end of the week... don't feel bad about repeating it!!!!

    Congrats! I just finished week 6 & I always find the 3rd run of the week to be the hardest, not sure why.

    Ad for eating before the run, I have to as well. I first started having just a banana, but am now trying to concentrate on eating a combination of complex carbs & protein every time I eat, so I have the banana with 1 tbsp of natural peanut butter in a whole wheat wrap. It's super yummy & I haven't had any problems while running (though my stomach isn't tempermental most of the time). I also heard at some point (though I can't remember where) that bananas are good to eat for runners because of the potassium -- they gave them out when I walked the 10K at the Cleveland Marathon, so I'm guessing there's some truth to that.

    Nice job! I can't help you on the last one-I have a temperamental stomach, and have to eat AFTER my morning run, otherwise the run wouldn't happen!

    I'm getting ready to start Week 6...keep up the good work! emoticon
