Today was memorable in several ways. First and most importantly I was deemed FIT FOR DUTY!! 4 months 5 procedures countless miles and way to many office/clinic visits later I am ready to go back to work. My job was held through today thanks to that federal family leave thing. See why I was getting worried. With the president messing with the drilling in the gulf and my job relying on drilling in the gulf this was not looking good. Thank God I made it back under the wire.
The other and equally memorable event was an anniversary. Six months ago I put down my last cigarette. Even through the above mentioned ordeal I did not cave. The amazing thing is I actually weigh a few pounds less than I did when this started in February. After four months at home I am ready to go back to the boat and, bless their hearts, I know my family is ready for me to go away for a while. I told my supervisor I could work over cooking on a big boat, deckhanding on anything that floats of scraping barnicles off boats at the ship yard. I am once again a productive member of society and couldn't be happier at the results of today.
We also found out my aunt will be released from the hospital Friday and will Hopefully be flying back to Pa. I don't want to get rid of them but I know it is way past time for things to get back to normal for them. All in all this was one of the best days in a long time.

Congratulations on all of your good news...especially the quitting smoking. That is great!!! I am trying to get my mom to quit...she has COPD and it's getting worse. You are doing such a good thing for yourself and your family!
And thank you for the flowers! It's so nice to get all of this encouragement.

All I can say is God is GOOD. Without Him, we could not have survived the last four months. Together, we made it, love, and we're stronger in Christ and stronger in our marriage. I love you!!

God is good, all the time. I am so glad to hear of all your good news! We have been praying and praying and will continue to do so.

I am glad your aunt will be released Friday. I know she did not intend to spend her vacation this way, but I am thankful she was able to get the medical treatment she needed.

When will you actually be going back to work?

I am rejoicing with you in all of these wonderful blessings!
