June goal review--July goals

I had two goals for June and I am so proud to say I met them! Well, almost. ;) My first goal was to finish Couch to 5K and run a 5K. I've finished the program and am now running 35+min 3 times a week. You wanna know when I run? At 6am. Yup, someone who isn't a "runner" or an early morning person has found the determination to run early in the mornings. It is the best time for me--it is cool out and hubby is home while the girls are asleep yet. I'm signed up to run a 5K July 10th, so that part of the goal will be met soon.

My second goal was to do the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Slimdown Challenge. It is a combo of 30 Day Shred, No More Trouble Zones, and Banish Fat/Boost Metabolism DVD's. By the end of the 30 days you are doing 40+ min workouts combining 2 DVD's. For my last workout today I'm doing the NMTZ and Level 1 of Shred. I moved a couple of the "off" days around, but stayed on track. I modified a few of the workouts while doing them, but did them 90% as shown. The biggest bummer is I lost my initial measurements, so I don't have a stunning number to show. That's okay, I'm just proud I did it and stuck with it. I know I've lost inches since I'm now trying to shrink my shorts I bought at the beginning of the month. Weight-wise, I think I will be down about 5-6lbs for the month but that also includes running 2-3x/week.

Now for July goals:
1. To find a new DVD(s) to workout with--maybe with some pilates
2. To increase my water intake (I'm still not good at that)
3. Continue running 3x/week
4. Track food at least 4-5 days a week

    wOOhoo! This is awesome! So glad you set goals for yourself and met them! You've officially inspired me, on this first day of July, to set a new personal goal for the month and make it happen!

    Good for you!!

    I just joined spark people in June. My first month's goals: drink water (not a problem already doing), walk 8,000 to 10,000 steps per day (at about 7,800 per day),,.....
    July - above and at least three days per week 45 to 60 minute cardio. Thanks for sharing.

    I'm working on my planks - working at getting them to splinter size. emoticon
