Goals and such...

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

So, for the month of June I've been focusing on a couple of "personal care" areas. So far, it's actually been going quite well. It's nice to see all the little check marks stack up on my calendar.

Tomorrow night, though, I begin the goals for the month of July (sort of). To help with motivation, I decided that it would be a good idea to join up with a 31-day challenge that my gym is having. Basically, the male and female participants who lose the highest percentage of weight can win cash prizes (don't know the amount). If you happen to lose 8+ pounds, you are eligible to win some of the other prizes that are available.

Part of the deal is that you get a 1/2 hour session with a personal trainer, in addition to a fitness and food journal to help track what you're doing over the course of the month.

Tomorrow night is the introduction night, as well as the first official weigh-in. Should be interesting to see what they have to say.

Thursday (the first) begins another goal that I have set for myself (and Dena has so kindly joined me on). Each day I'm going to do a round of Jillian Michaels' 30-Day Shred. I understand that there is a bit of a love/hate relationship with this routine.

Hopefully with the food tracking that I'm going to be doing with the journal, I'll also begin posting food on here again. We'll see, though, because I don't want to overdo it. And yes, I know how simple it is to log in here and post my food, but at the same time I know how time-consuming it can become when you have nothing but a few minutes before crashing into bed at night.
