5K Number 2 - In the Books! :)

I ran my second 5K ever this past weekend. I have been doing really good with sticking to my running routine since I re-commited to my healthy lifestyle and leading up to this 5K had only been able to push myself to run about 2.5 miles with a minute or two of walking mixed in.
Well...this Saturday I ran it with a friend and we ended up separating because her shoulder started to really bother her and she had to slow down for a little bit. I had to keep going or I knew I wouldn't get through it all!
I had my trusty iPod and motivation from the volunteers along the way and it got me through it without stopping once to walk! I improved my time by 3 minutes from the 5K I ran last September.
I'm really proud of my accomplishment, I am still not ever going to be the fastest runner but to me the most important thing is I promised myself I wouldn't walk and I didn't. I improved from 38:00 to 35:00 and averaged about 11:18/mile which isn't too bad.
I ran my own 5K this morning for exercise too. I pushed myself to workout harder since I was clearly capable of running a 5K on Saturday and it felt great!
Yay for 5ks! :) Next...at 10k? Yikes!
