A Non-Typical Tropical Smoothie (say THAT fast five times! :-)

Friday, June 25, 2010

Ok peeps, sorry to post another recipe, but this treat was just too yummalicious to not share! I ran it through the Recipe Counter thingy here on Spark - results below! I know, the fat content will be a tad high due to the avocado and coconut milk, but they're good fats, with some awesome Omega-3s to boot!

AVOCADO PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:

1 medium ripe avocado
1 ½ cups of fresh pineapple
1 ½ cups of fresh orange juice
2 teaspoons of lime juice
½ cup of fresh coconut milk
Ice cubes

Preparation:

Peel and slice the avocado and pineapple into small chunks.

Combine with rest of ingredients (except the ice cubs) and puree in a blender until smooth.

Add the ice cubes and blend again. Add a bit of organic agave syrup if you need it sweeter.

Divided into 4 smoothies, the low-down is:
Cals 198.7
Total Fat 13.2
Carbs 21.5
Protein 2.4

I adapted this recipe from avocadorecipes.net, and the pic is from nestleprofessional.com.
