Mermaid Chronicles

Well, I'm finishing up my first week of swimming laps...rough start, but I'm starting to get used to it. I've got a system in place that's working.

I was going to keep lugging my gear on my back while working, but there is no locker room at the pool, so I am going home after work and my swimming buddy is picking me up. We have our suits on under sweats and just get ready poolside. We towel off after getting out andd slip our sweats back on and sit on garbage bags on the way home!!

I feel sore, but not injured sore...mostly in my back, neck ,and arms. My legs are pretty used to miles of walking every day, so they don't seem to have as much soreness. By next week we'll be using weights while doing laps...who knows what will come next!?

I was going to change this class from pass not pass to a grade so I would be allowed to sign up for it again, but the times it takes place during the schoolyear are during the middle of the day, so I will have to find another way to continue this exercise....just hope I can afford it!!

I am proud of myself though, I have been keeping up, swimming to the very end after having gone thirty years or more without swimming!!! And it's so beautiful at night, swimming under the stars ...kind a feel like Ariel!!!

It's funny how, even if you are in good shape, you can get really worked by a new type of exercise. Just goes to show it is good to try new things and vary your routine I guess.

You are working so hard and I'm glad you're enjoying it too! I'd love to try water workouts, but there isn't a pool or gym close enough to where we live. I see your fitness minutes count going higher and higher and I'm proud of you too!!
