Well, we were running around like a chicken with our heads cut off this morning. Hubby needed gas for the lawn mower and he needed to get it cut really early before it got too hot. I was going to take the gas can to the store and fill it up while he started. We keep the gas can outside the utility building in the back in the corner by the fence. It is not visiable to anyone unless they come into our yard and are looking for anything. Well it was gone. Also when I went out this morning Hubby told me that he had to upright a large pot that is planted when he came home last night. I had heard a large thud outside and could not locate what it was. Apparently it was this pot. I has to weigh 60 to 75 lbs filled with dirt and plant. Hubby said well maybe the wind blew it over. No way, it has been there for 3 years and the wind does not move it. A hurricane will, but we have not had one of those.
A neighbor came over to talk and he told me he had seen a strange person in the area last night and had lost sight of them. I think they may have run through my yard and into the pot appartently trying to jump it but did not make it. He said they were fooling around his sister's car when he came out and confronted them. He wanted us t know about it as Hubby works nights and he wanted me to not just open the door and go outside. He told me I have his number to call if I hear anything and he will come out before I do and check things out. It is great when you know that your neighbors are looking out for you. Our little block has been so peaceful and everyone keeps an eye out for everyone else. Hubby told him ourgas can was missing. He said it as there as he cut our yard while we were on vacation. He said that someone keep walking up and knocking on our door everyday while we were gone. He walked over and ask them if he could help and they told him they were a friend of the person that lives here but gave him the wrong name for Hubby. He told the guy that he had the wrong house and if he saw him back he would call the police.
I took Miss Coco out before it got dark and this neighbor and the one next door were out in their yards so all was well. Of course, Miss Coco had to visit with each of them. She is such a little social butterfly. The neighbor right next door just adores her and she makes him so happy when she allows him to pick her up and love on her.
