getting adequate sleep....................check minus and I really don't have an excuse.


I'm a night person living in a day person's world. When my husband is home we are usually asleep by 1030.....he's Johnny Jump-out-of-bed-in-the-morning
-and-conquer-the-world. Me not so much. I prefer to begin my conquests at roughly 10 am or later. However, my day job requires that I'm up by 545 and functioning by 0645 at least 3 days a week. Not a problem when my husband is home and has me tucked in at a reasonable time. However, he works a 24h shift every third day at the FD allowing me to stay up until all hours of the night goofing off and pretty much accomplishing nothing.

Last night, I got a total of 4 hours sleep. Today, I'm guzzling black coffee (at least I gave up the creamer)! That's just dumb.....Another mechanism to allow stupid stress to creep back into my life. This must stop!

Therefore, I challenge myself to get 7 hours of sleep (lets not push it) for the next 7 days.

    I'm in the same boat as you. I struggle with getting enough sleep and with getting up the same time every day. If you figure out the secret to sleep let me know! emoticon

    I am having the same issue. I can get the sleep in but only by sleeping half the day away and staying up half the night which is not going to work in about 3 weeks when I have to be at work at 6:30

    I'm not giving myself a check on this one yet either

    I go to bed at eleven on work nights but tend to stay up much later on Fri and Sat. During the week I get up @ 5:30 and I am generally up by 7:00 when I'm off. I've always just considered a full nights sleep to be 6 hours for me. I can't go to bed any earlier, I just toss for at least an hour. My husband on the other hand goes to bed at 10 every night regardless and can fall to sleep at the drop of a hat. When I stay up on my exercise I'm fine but miss a couple of days and I start dragging.

    wow girl, you really do need to get your sleep in. I have no problem in that area lol my hubby and I are opposites lol. He loves going to sleep later and can get up in a snap. Me on the other hand I have to be in bed early like 9 or 9:30 lol I get up at 6 a.m. I'm grumpy in the morning if I don't get rest and grumpy regardless takes me a minute to wake up and feel ok to talk to folks lol. hope you can CHECK this one!
