My favorite memories of summer are some of the typical summer smells - newly mown hay (or grass in the city), the smell of the air after a rainstorm, when it is fresh and clean, cookouts with the smell of wood smoke. I also like several of the tastes - fresh and juicy peaches, watermelon, corn on the cob, fresh raspberries right off the bush (which we picked wild when camping and then boated over for some ice cream to have with them), strawberries. I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota and we went camping most weekends. It was wonderful.

Can almost smell the grass and grill, and all the other wonderful things you mentioned. As silly as it sounds, one of my favorite summer sounds is a rainbird sprinkler. LOL The fireflys are out now and it's now to see them and remember all the nights we, as kids would catch them and put them in a jar for awhile so we could check em out!

Beautiful memories! You bring back many happy memories of my own, of camping, hiking, picking blueberries in the mountains, and more.

Sounds so lovely! It might come as a shock but I have NEVER gone berry picking ever, never when I younger. That was something I always regretted about never doing in the summers. Sounds like you had a wonderful time.
