Changing up my Food Menu and Trying to Stay Within Range

Monday, June 21, 2010

I used to easily stay within the range SP recommends for my nutrition. I just kept sticking to a one basic menu that worked - cereal for breakfast, fruit for snacks, a sandwich for lunch, and some sort of Asian dish for dinner. I grew bored of the same routine menu, so I started trying other foods and eating them at different times of the day. When I do, I always tend to go overboard or under in some areas. There will be days with not enough carbs, or too much fat etc.

I think I have to try going back to my old routine menu for a while. These past week or so has been an active week for me, going to the gym 5 times in a week and going hiking during the weekend; so I am not that worried about gaining weight. I am just worried I won't get enough nutrients to support that level of activity. I guess sometimes you just have to stick to mundane, boring stuff because that's the stuff that works...

I should try a Spark Menu one day. It's kind of difficult because some of the stuff that's on the Spark Menus are not sold where I am at... Maybe I can find some cool substitutes. Time to make a new grocery list! emoticon

Sometimes the boring routines work best. With me it's a guessing game... I move foods around to get 'enough' proteins, fats, carbs etc. Best of luck. :)

In the beginning, I was always balanced in the tracker. Now, close enough is good enough - it all seems to balance in the end. I think you are doing a great job at finding what is right for you.

    Keep up the great work!
