Uh oh, my first binge!!!

Monday, June 21, 2010

I've been with SP since March and I've just had my first binge!!!!
and do you know what?( tell me, I hear you say) ......................... I don't care!! I know, I can't believe it, I REALLY don't care.
Before SP I was a serial binger, usually once or twice a week and of course all the self loathing that went with it would just ruin all the good work I had done previously. So the fact that it's been over 3 months before I had this one is a REVELATION. I CAN be binge free for long periods. I'm not going to beat myself up over it, oh no. I've had a very busy and emotional weekend with one daughter having her prom and the other her 21st party. I also spent time with my family commemorating my brother Garry who died 2 years ago.
So you see, I think one binge in 3 months is OK! and tomorrow I'm going to carry on sparking as usual, logging my calories and exercise and talking to my spark buddy and other great spark friends and just...well, getting on with it.
And do you know what? this binge wasn't nearly as bad as it would have been previously because I didn't feel the need to eat as much! how great is that!!!! The support here has been fantastic and I wouldn't be feeling this way if it wasn't for SparkPeople and everyone here who has supported me so a HUGE THANK YOU to my fabulous extended spark family

Hi Lorna! You are so right and the amazing thing is you can binge and still fit it into your nutrician tracker and sometimes your calories are still within your range, just don't make a habit of this, okay? You are learning well on Spark People, your mindset is so wonderful and is so nice of you to have shared this as we all need to have this mindset of positive and when we are not perfect it's the positive mindset that say's Let it Be and Let it Go and move on and learn from the past to be more positive in the future and today. Happy Monday and Best wishes on your busy life. emoticon Diana emoticon emoticon

Great attitude! I'm going to do the same and just carry on after a slip without tremendous guilt but maybe I will spend a bit longer on my treadmill. emoticon
