Little breakthroughs

I had two "little breakthroughs" this week. It has been a VERY tough week on a lot of levels but on the bright side, I weighed in under 300 on 3 different mornings the past week. Note: I weigh daily but only chart my Monday morning weight. I've been between 297 and 302 all week. Soon, I will never have to put a '3' at the beginning of my weight ever again.

I have mixed feelings about this. In a way it feels like I just got back to the starting line. I started at about 297 with SP several years ago. After some losses and gains, I worked my way up to 324. Getting back to where I started back then isn't the great feeling that hitting, say, 275 or something will be. I was kind of taken by surprise by that cuz I thought it would be a great rush to be under 300 again. But I am getting a great rush from plenty of other sources on this journey so no big.

Speaking of big rushes... I had a swimming breakthrough. I have been following a program called 0-1650 to build up to swimming a mile. Think of the swimming version of couch to 5k. I had gotten up to 20 laps when everything went to heck at home and I was unable to go swimming for a couple of weeks. I've been back at it for about a week and was a little discouraged that the 20 laps was really hard that first day. Second day was a little better but I was wondering if I would be able to move up a level next week. Well, yesterday I went swimming and not only was I able to easily do the 20 laps again, I did over half of them at the crawl! Prior to this mess, I was only able to do about 25% at the crawl. Sometimes not even that. I guess my lungs finally got the message and started multiplying those little aerioles or whatever the heck they are called:O) I am definitely moving up to the next level on Monday and I am pretty sure it will be EASY. Yeah baby!
