Well, it looks like it is going to be the little girls day. She has become so much into herself lately. (Not that we spoiled her or gave her the impression that she was top dog). She has Hubby wrapped around her little paw (not that he was no a wiling party to the submission). When he comes home from work she charges to the door and runs out to meet him (I have to make sure that h has pulled his truck into the drive and stopped before I open the door) but she quickly found that running out to him and jumping up gets her a hefty pick up and loving before she gets down to run the yard and chases the cats. She has designed this time as hers. He will sit on the step and wait on her to finish with her play and running before he gets up and tells her to come in so he can go to bed.
We really have a big laugh when she discovers another way to be top dog. I am so happy that she seems to have all her energy returned to her. I just give into her but I know it is my guilt of allowing her to take the flea pills that nearly killed her. For a couple of months she would not run like she did before, but she is running again like she did before I let them talk me into the best medication ever for fleas. I will question all medication they want to give her again. I will not submitted to a lot of medications myself, so I do not know why I thought these chemical concoctions were good for her. Her little system could not take the onslaught of the chemicals and she was so logistic that I thought she was going to die. She would not move, eat or drink. I finally opened the frig and discovered a little bottle of DanActive in there on the shelf. I decided, it was not a lose if it did not help. I gave it to her and she drank it up then drank some water. After about an hour she started to eat her food and stood up on her little legs. Well, she had DanAvtice every morning for two weeks as she was getting her strength back. She started eating and drinking again and her little eyes got their shine back. She gets a DanActive every Monday morning and she is so excited when she sees the little bottle. I hold my breath that the meds did not damage her liver. I have had several people that the same meds damaged their little ones liver. I will not take her back to the same vet. I am looking for a holistic vet in our area as I feel her system is now so sensitive to chemicals that I cannot take a chance on her being exposed to them. She will not take all the shots they want to give her every time I go in. She will get her rabies as it is required, but I am not happy with that. The research I did was not favorable for all dogs to have. They have one size fits all and it does not.
Sorry again, I am on a rant. Maybe because the vet has left messages everyday on my phone that she has to come in now as she is due these shots (except rabies) and they are necessary. This visit will be around $250 plus the chemicals they want me to take home. NO WAY she will not be subjected to this onslaught of chemicals again. She is an inside baby so she is not exposed so much. I have been doing a lot of research on the net and find that even some vets are not happy with what they are required to subject the babes to.
