A Few Things

So i have been really busy the last few days without much time to myself. I am off to bed but thought I would check in real quick. A few things...

An old friend of mine back home in Canada is going through some scary health issues at the moment. The short of it is this...

Last week she had outpatient surgery (breast reduction) and by Friday was feeling very sick. Went to ER they thought she may have contracted a gastrointestinal virus while she was in for her procedure. My Monday she had worsened and was then diagnosed with septic shock (toxic shock syndrome). The doctors are very cautious about admitting to a link between her original surgery and this situation.

By Tuesday evening, she was on a ventilator to regulate her breathing, she was under sedation, and things were looking quite grim. However she had surgery that evening to remove some infected tissue, and that seemed to be having the positive effects they were hoping for.

This morning she was breathing on her own (but still has the tube in), is out of sedation but still has the line in in case they need to re sedate her. She hasnt had much change today, good or bad.

I would ask for prayer for her and for healing. Also for strength for her husband as he tries to be by her side and be with their 2 small kids. I will keep you all posted.

I have been doing great this week as far as food and working out goes and am feeling pretty good about things. I decide to have an off day today. Chris and I went out to dinner and got some nachos. When we were done our waiter walked by and said "that was quick work!" GEEZ I am not that much of a piggy am i? lol

After dinner Chris surprised me and took me to get a WII and a WII Fit Plus. I am SO excited and hope this helps me even more in my weight loss.

It cracks me up when it measured my weight and BMI and it goes all the way to the top and the music goes BONG BUM BUM BONG BONG BOOOONG!!!! Those with one MUST know what I am talking about. Then the WII Balance Board says "Thats OBESE!" LOL I dunno, is it weird I think it's funny. I mean not that I am considered obese but that the little computer voice tells me so. HA.

Ok it is WAY past my bedtime. I am about to get silly.

I think GPS' and the Wii should be men's voices. The GPS would say "You took a wrong turn but you are a great driver. You should turn right up here, did you have your hair done? It looks great" And the Wii would say "That's a tad on the obese side but I love you anyway."

I will pray for your friend. How very scary.

Jus to tell you...I got ticked when mine said "That's obese" in that perky little voice. I wanted to throw it our the window! if I could talk back i'd say in my best smarty pants voice "well, duh-that's why I'm here!" I think I might have to have a party when it finally says "That's Overweight!" lol

Prayers out to your friend! I am believing in her TOTAL healing in Christ name Amen!

On a lighter note, enjoy your new Wii. It's a great motivational tool. I started with it back in Aug. (after I had it for a year!) It also told me I was obese! Now it tells me, thats overweight! It is because of that lame thing, that I changed my goal weight from 145 to 139. I want to hear it say just once, that's NORMAL!

Blessings to you my emoticon Keep up the great work! Only good can come from it!
