Day 3!

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

I followed the tracker, and I'm 3 days in while staying with my goals. ETR (enduretherain ((wife))) always wanted to keep a blog streak going, so I'm going to try my best to do that.

Yesterday I slipped walking off the step outside the door and strained my already sore calf muscle, so I can barely walk with a limp. Part of me wants to work out through it anyway so that I won't doubt myself, but the other part tries to tell me that I really did hurt myself and shouldn't risk a larger injury. At the moment, I'm on the latter's side.

I suppose I'll see how it feels tomorrow!

I'm sorry for your setback! i think that's something just trying to get the best of you and not wanting you to reach your goals. I hope it heals quickly so you can keep up your good work!

Something similar happened to me early in my 5K training - I flipped over the handlebars on my bike and had quite a spill that chewed up my right knee. I stuck with my training but I just took it a little easier for the next couple of days. In my case, I was surprised to find that it hurt less to jog than it did to walk. Try to find some way to work out that doesn't cause pain. The most important thing is to listen to your body.

I'm a blog streaker too. I'm glad for it too! I've made a few good friends through my blog and now I look forward to their motivating comments!

Good luck with your injury. I hope you feel better soon.

I slipped off a stair shortly after I started working out, too! It sucked and really hurt, but then I was over it and I could work out again. So rest up a few days until it feels better!

And awesome on staying in your calories for the last three days! That's hard, especially at the beginning and I know you're making a lot of sacrifices!

And you're so cute checking out all the labels at the grocery store now. The CUTEST! I love you so much!!! emoticon
