What happened to my body...

It still amazes me what a womans body goes through during pregnancy. I've never been a skinny girl but just before I got pregnant we went on a cruise and I wore this white flowy (is that even a word?) skirt that was a size 14. A friend suggested that I put all the clothes I want to fit back into in the forefrunt of my closet as a constant reminder to help me stay on track. Every Tuesday I try them on to see how much closer I am getting to where I want to be. I'm not trying to get into a certain size but just a healthy state. So last night I tried on the white skirt and it was far from being able to fit. I stood there and thought to myself "Did I really used to wear this?" It seemed so small. But then I started thinking about how happy I will be to be able to wear that skirt again. I started thinking how proud of myself I will be for losing enough weight to be able to zip it up all the way. Our bodies really do change so much after we have children. Since most of us are average women who don't have trainers and cooks to help us get back to our pre-pregnancy weight in 6 weeks, we have to look at this as a journey. Each day presents us with decisions to make. Those decisions will either help us get to our goals or hinder us. Whie I would love to be able to fit into that skirt right now, I will be much happier that I have stuck to my plan and will be able to fit into it again some day. And I will be sure to post a picture of me in my white skirt once it fits properly.

That's a great attitude to have! You will definitely fit into that skirt again, and you will gain much more than you lose on this journey!!!
