My new plan for running....

So last Sunday (June 6), I completed my first 5k ever and got a PR for it too. This 5k was on back woods trails around a creek that often floods. So of course the race was very muddy and slippery in spots. I luckily did not face plant in any mud, I did slip a few times. Include with the mud some steep hills and you have a first 5k challenge. I completed it using JG training with 2.5:1 intervals and ended up with a 11.47 minute mile. Previously my time had been 11.87 min/mile.
Thats me behind my friend in the white top, pink hat completing my run.
So this leads me onward to my next goals.
I plan on using JG training towards a 10k, the race I plan on is not a 10k but a 5 mile in August. all the same, thats my training plan anyway. Once this race is over I will pick a half marathon and begin training for that.
My training partner is also coming along for most of the 10k training on his way to his first 5k run in July.
Yep thats my little guy Opus, he will be competing with me in the Running with the big Dogs 5k this July.
And because he is so cute...
