Cant seem to get back on the wagon

This whole weight loss journey can bring such frustration to me. I lose 15 pounds or so, find my momentum, feel like nothing can stop me then... BAM. I get off track, lose momentum and end up gaining the weight back again.
I would love to say...Ok tomorrow, Monday I am going to start over again, and im going to really do it this time, but I dont even have the energy to phych myself up again.

I know I will fee s much better not carrying around an extra 40 pounds.

Why is this so hard for me?

    I know how you feel, I do this all the time (except, I have yet to ever lose 15 pounds!!)
    I think I allowed myself to get frustrated once I got off track.
    Try keeping a journal to see what is going on. I started doing that and when I got off track a bit, or started getting frustrated with not losing, I looked at how I actually felt the day s I worked out. Even though I may not have lost much, I won because I seemed to feel better, more confident and happier that day!

    Fall seven times get up eight. As long as you get back up the fall doesn't hurt so much. emoticon

    The same thing has happened to me. But I know we can do this. We ave to do this. I keep thinking of all the things I want in life that my weight has been keeping me from. It's motivation. Start again by taking those baby steps that helped you lose the first 15 pounds. Good luck and let me know if you need anything.

    Dr. Oz says to make at least 1 or 2 meals a day the same each day. I ususally plan my week (breakfast and lunch) ahead and eat the same thing each day and I mix it up at dinner.. also my snacks are pre tracked in my planner.. I eat the same fruit and desert each day. If I don't get to it thats ok but at least I know what I'm allowed and I don't need to think about it.
    This week I'm really kicking up my workouts so I am taking a banana and a grapfruit for my breakfast. I get to work out at work so I can spread those 2 fruits out over a few hours and workout inbetween. By the time I get to my lunch I'm ready.. I usually eat a salad with some sort of protien in it(chicken,Beef,pork or egg) I also eat protien wrapped in a heated corn tortilla with a teaspoon of salsa it makes for a tasty lunch and holds me until my next snack.. all this is pre planned so I don't get derailed and on the weekends I really just try to hold my own... its hard with family pulling in different directions but its doable and if I can stay great m-f I'm ok..

    I know how you feel. I have just started with Spark people to lose my weight, again. But we are both logged in here and joined - so I guess we really want to do it, and will disappointed with ourselves sometimes - but reading the success stories always cheers me up and gives me some inspiration?

    Try to break it down to one day (somethimes even one thing) at a time. It makes it easier.
    Say, for example, today I will go for a 15 minute walk, strength train, ect.
    Focus on one meal at a time. It's good to have a meal plan, but after the shopping is done don't get too ahead of yourself. When I'm thinking about what dinner is at breakfast, I spend the day thinking about food and making myself hungry.
    Every so often try to switch your exercise up. I can't stand strength training as it is, so every once in a while I go in and change my whole plan. Try a new class or run outside instead of on the treadmill. Go swim at the Y.
    That's all stuff that helps me. We all fall of the wagon from time to time, just don't forget to get back on.

    Something, perhaps the actual losing weight, is triggering a subconscious reaction. Something that you are holding onto. Perhaps the fear of success, perhaps the coveting of failure. Next time you embark on this journey to a better you, start a private personal journal and keep track of what is going on in your life and emotions. That does help.
