Ditching the Protein Powder,

After reading on Spark an article on heavy metals found in protein powders, I no longer feel comfortable using them. I loved it in my oatmeal and used it for a coffee creamer, too.

So I am making a big turkey today. There will be lots of protein for several days. Now, what can I do about breakfast protein. Turkey in my oatmeal doesn't sound appetizing. I put nuts in oatmeal, but there is more fat than protein in those and I have to limit my nuts. Eggs? Trying to avoid too much cholesterol, too, so the yolks are out.

It will be like losing a good friend, but maybe it was the fickle friend with a hidden agenda. emoticon

    Egg white omelets are good with fresh veggies..also a handful of nuts could give you that extra protein in the morning. I haven't read that article yet - I don't use protein powders everyday but I do have a stash so I'll have to do some research! Thanks for bringing it up. emoticon
