Goals for 5k

I have my next (second!) 5k coming up on 6/12. The first one was brutally hot and I was glad to have survived the heat, and I ran with a friend and stayed on pace with her. We are both running in this one, but I plan to run at my own pace and hope to run it at around 31 minutes. We ran the other in 33:35. I didn't love the time, but it was my first "real" race and, as I said, it was REALLY HOT!
My training runs at the 5k distance have mostly been in the mid-32 minute range but I ran just under 31 this morning. I would love to some day run it sub-30, but would be thrilled with sub-31 for this one. I ran 4 miles this morning, may do a short (2 miles), easy run with my friend tomorrow night (I don't run twodays in a row as a rule, but I want to get in a run with her and hope, hope, hope it isn't a mistake. I've promised myself to make it an easy run. Then, no more runs til an easy 3 on Wednesday and off again Thursday and Friday to have fresh legs for the race!
