My hurting hands.:-(

Thursday, June 03, 2010

It has been well over 1 month since my hands were badly hurt from redwood chips I used for my garden.
YES I wore gloves & all but as you will see in the video that I am still suffering & in very much pain.
It hurts to use my hands & to stop the burning feeling I carry around a frozen jell pack at night I take pain meds & yes during the day if I really need them.
Oh doing my workout when I sweat my hands burn even more..
Well I also in the video say what is going on too.
See for yourself..
Thanks

You poor lady. That's horrible to go through during the hot weather. I want to cry for you. Time to go to the ocean and stick them in salt water. It may dry it out and heal it. I pray for a quick recovery for you. Take care, Hugs, Keke

Hi all just found out that wild parsnips were in the redwood chips & I'm still effected as of today.
It takes a long time to heal BUT what activates it is heat & sun light so being a cook I'm around heat & I love to mow my lawn which lately has been torcher..
WELL at least I now know what is what caused the endless pain I'm in..

My husband worked for a sign shop where they used treated wood for the sign posts; I showed him your video and he knew immediately that you had to have been handling treated wood.

I sure hope they are better now...?

Wow! Makes me wonder just what those wood chips had been treated with to cause such a reaction on you!!

So sorry this happened to you, that looks so awful :(( I sure don't understand what happened though. How can redwood chips hurt you? An allergy that somehow got past the gloves you wore? If they affect you this badly, why are you using them at all?
Your hands remind me of an organic chemistry teacher -she is very allergic to latex, but for her job, rubber gloves are a necessity but she can't always use the non latex ones and her hands look like burnt sausages.
    Hope you heal soon.
