When change comes

“Change is the essence of life.Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become.”
“Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over.”
- Gloria Naylor
This past weekend we celebrated my son's graduation from high school. I truly didn't think it would affect me the way it has. I've prepared myself over the past year, knowing what his next steps were and being proud of the choices he was making. The problem was, I have always been prepared as a wife, sister, granddaughter to support the men in my life as they serve this country, but it hit me, the one that will be leaving is my baby. This change, the need to let go and let him do what he feels is his duty is truly the hardest thing I've faced. I guess that's when we have to turn them over to God and know he has a plan for them. Faith is believing even when your head tells you not to.
We all face change and it can be easier to stay in the safe spot. Not to step out and make our lives different, I am letting him inspire me. I am going to work harder on my changes and see what I will become.
Blessings....
