Way off track

Well, my vacation that I had been planning, has come and gone and it was fabulous. Aruba was truly everything I thought it would be and more. I know that when I first joined SparkPeople back in January of this year, my main reason for wanting to lose weight was to not feel so contentious in a bathing suit. I had originally planned on going from 149 to 130. With all being said and done, I made it to 138. Not bad but not my goal. For some reason about a week or two before the vacation I started to fall off and not follow my exercise program quite as closely as I had. I wasn't going to achieve my long term goal after all so I felt again some failure in my falling short. Well I am now 2 weeks removed from vacation and I still haven't started to exercise or even follow my caloric intake like I know I should, plus I have been fighting a very nasty cold so my energy his been null and void. So, here I am, back at 145. Amazing how quickly the pounds seem to pile back on. Am I discouraged? A bit. But I know it is through my own fault.

So I guess is I need help to get back on track. To get back into exercising, to get back to leading that healthy lifestyle that I want so much to change to. Has anyone else been in this position?

I have set a new target date for weight loss: August 30th and I hope to get to 130 by then.

Any words of advice or offers of encouragement is needed and most welcome. Thanks! Kat

    Kat, I'm sorry you didn't reach your goal but I'm glad to hear you had a great vacation anyway. :) You and I started Spark with the same goals, for the same reason and I've been doing the same thing you did...easing up before I've actually made it to my revised goal so I'm glad I read your blog. Fedup is right though. You did it before and you can do it again. You really aren't THAT far from where you were even though it feels like it. A few weeks of focus will get you back where you were.

    Just start over. You know you can do it, you did it before. just remember that you want to be your goal weight by that date. Take a picture of something you want a post it somewhere you can see it as incentive.

    I will simply point out the obvious: You have fear that starts to surface when you get close to your goal.

    From my studies of mind over body, colds normally represent grief.

    I would recommend starting off facing your fears head on.
