Learning more about myself

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

I am in my third year here, and finally had to go to another measure to help myself reach my goals. I have been on nutrisystem for nearly a month and lost over 10 lbs. so far. I exercise a lot each month, but my portions of food were way out of control and this is helping me see that eating regularly during the day and small portions keeps my blood sugar up, etc. I had to change an ingrained habit, more than one, actually. I am happy to have this tool to help me. Even got a part time job to help defray the cost and am also saving to go visit my daughter in Madrid, Spain next year for a month. She has been there since graduating from college (six years!) and when will I be able to go more comfortable and with someone who knows the ares, have a comfortable place to stay, etc. than now. I don't want that regret.
SO, life changes, and I just wasn't changing as much as I needed to. I just read in someone's post that time is going to go on anyway, so why not put time into ourselves and get healthier, stronger and fit! That is my goal, and I got a super surprise last week, I tried on a pair of pants that haven't fit forever, and they fastened fine! I have so much , culling thru my clothes to donate to the local shelters for others. Clearing out spaces and finding more peace without clutter. An ongoing journey. I am so thankful for Sparks for being there for me every day, for all the teams, and the friends I have made here, and I wanted to share hope that it may take longer for some of us than others, just keep coming back and never give up. Thanks to everyone for their encouragement, and I truly believe that each of us are able to take charge of our lives, with small steps, leading to goals that in the past seemed unreachable. Group hug!
with so much love and thanks,
donna jean
