Okay, so since you all asked for it, I will now tell you a bit about date 2. I actually wasn't expecting date 2 to happen because Art Guy had to have some dental work done on Saturday. He wasn't sure if that would keep him down or not. I had to go pick up my sis and roommate's paintings from a show that had closed since I was heading towards her place anyhow, and I knew I would be in the area. (He lives a bit of a ways away.) I hoped to see him, but I certainly wasn't going to be mad at him if he canceled considering the circumstances.
At any rate, I got a text in the afternoon from him asking me if I was in the area yet. Guess the pain couldn't keep him away too long. ;) So by evening he was kissing me hello, telling me "you're funny" which he always smiles and says calmly as he comments on my quirky ways or responses, and helping me load giant paintings into my car. So far, so excellent.
Then we went to the park I had never seen. But this was not your ordinary park. No, this park has a giant lake and a marshy area, with bridges and mini fishing piers, with a walkway and giant trees around it, as well as large grassy areas. Oh, and lets not forget the blooming rose garden and benches to stop and sit at occasionally. ;) Ducks and birds flutter around. Art guy comes here to sketch. One of his favorite spots is now shared with me. Smooth. And wouldn't you know the sun was a bit in hiding as we arrived, but as we walked in our coats, it came out and graced everything in that golden hue, as it slowly dipped. Still chilled in the air, so that made it nice to be close. But seriously, could he have arranged that any better?
Art Guy, whether standing on the edge of the little pier, walking by the marsh, or sitting on any number of benches, play with my hair all you want; I have no objections at all. At one point, I laughed so much my cheeks hurt. I've never talked so much to a man in my life in the singular sessions I have in the last couple of weeks, and said things I haven't said to any of them. Later there was tea (which he frequents this place so I let him order and choose the kind) and more talking and walking around the city. (Great exercise date, huh?)
My only concern is the very real danger we both feel. There is great risk in liking someone too much isn't there? Must stay grounded. But then with great risk, comes great reward. I don't want to be stupid. I don't want to scare him away. But some things he says makes me thinks he isn't going anywhere. Maybe I am just being paranoid. Not like a lot of guys have talked to me not at me, switched constantly to walk on the street/car side of the sidewalks, been truly considerate and respectful, heck, even called me beautiful like he did tonight. (He even followed it up with a text so I have it in writing. LOL)
Art Guy asked me to a big festival thing next week. There is a gallery show on Friday followed by a mutual friend DJing (that will be a first, since we haven't done the whole public appearance with friends thing since Prom) and then some other showings on Sunday, which bookends my sister's birthday perfectly. He even laid out some plans for a following weekday if I liked with a popular performance artist doing his thing that he thought I might like (yes!) and a drag show later that same night(oh fun yes!). So maybe with that many plans in advance, he is thinking of being around a bit longer.
I have to admit Sparklers in all that talking, I forgot to eat. Nope, I never ate, not since 2p.m. until I got to my sisters at 10:30p.m. Bad girl! I must do better. Other than some sort of green tea, I was happy as a can be, and wasn't even hungry. Granted I got there later and he probably thought I already ate. Certainly he would have got me something had I asked, or he known. It just didn't even cross my mind. LOL Oops.
Well until next time.
