BLC PERIWINKLE Sizzling Summer 5 Motivators

Sunday, May 23, 2010

This is part of a challenge on 1 of my teams.... Post a blog listing 5 things you would do to stay motivated during the 10 weeks of the Summer Challenge!

I've been trying to think of my 5 motivators all week, doesn't help with being sick, lol. But here we go...

Here's my list:

1.) MY HUBBY - hubby has been in training for the last 5 months for the army, BCT (Basic Combat Training) & AIT (Advanced Individual Training). Every morning they do PT (Physical Training), they do it 1 hrs each time. I think to myself, if he can endure all that, then I can surely endure the little bit of time & effort I put into my journey. If I'm struggling, I can talk to him and tell him that I'm struggling and he supports me and gives me encouragement and pushes me to keep going. He motivates me to keep going.

2.) MY SON - my son is always wanting someone to play with him, when he's not in school and he's wanting to play, he's the only kid in the house, so he has me, auntie, gramp & grammy that he always wants to play with him, all at different times, but anyway... it used to be when I was at my heaviest weight, I didn't feel like doing much, I was always tired and always found it hard to get down and play with him. I don't wanna see myself like that anymore. Since I've lost weight, I'm able to play with him more often and get down and play with him. He motivates me to keep going.

3.) MY TEAMS - Being a team leader, has helped to motivate me to keep going also being a member of teams that I am not a leader of. When I'm struggling, these teams lift me up & encourage me. Also, seeing the teams I lead get active and get motivated, keeps me motivated. When team members from the teams I lead, send me SparkGoodies or just post a comment on my page, letting me know that they appreciate me and that I motivate them, motivates me even more to keep pressing on.

4.) SMALLER CLOTHES - Being able to fit back into size 12 jeans motivates me and keeps motivating me to keep pressing on so I can eventually fit into a SMALLER size. My size 12's are getting pretty lose, so I'm sure very soon that I'll be needing another size smaller, lol.

5.) EXERCISING - The way I feel after getting in a good workout, helps me to stay motivated. Lots of times I will feel tired and sluggish and not feel like doing a workout, but I get past that and will do it anyway and when I'm done I feel much better than before I did workout. Last week I started out not having a very good start to my week workout wise, I was struggling. I told hubby, he tells me, go do 15 sit-ups & ride on the stationary bike for 20 mins. I put it off for a little bit, but he would not let me keep on, he kept asking me if I'd done it yet & wouldn't let up, lol. So I did it, did 30 sit-ups & rode the stationary bike for 21 mins. And I felt much better than before I started.

6.) PICTURE OF SELF - A picture of my healthy self sitting on the beach in Hawaii.

So those are my 5 motivators.
