Changing it up!

I went to a new ballet class last night. It was at a new studio that I recently found out about. I've been a little dissatisfied with the ballet classes I have been taking. In both classes there are a lot of total beginners. I have a lot of dance experience so the classes were moving too slow for me. Plus, I often felt bad for "making it look easy". Ballet is not easy to learn and I think it is great for someone to try and learn as an adult. They shouldn't compare themselves to me when I have been taking ballet since I was 5. This is the problem with most "adult" dance class. There is too wide a mix of abilities and no one gets what they need. Plus, the classes I have been taking are only one hour long. That is really not long enough for a good ballet class.

The new class was definitely more challenging. It was an hour and a half long so we had time for adage, pirouettes, and petite allegro, something we almost never got in my other classes. The instructor gave me some critique which I always appreciate. I worked up a good sweat and was out of breath several times. I am glad I found this class.

I also tried fennel the other night. I am making an effort to seek out new fruits and vegetables. Fennel was interesting. I didn't love it - didn't hate it. Now I know what it tastes like and maybe it will make sense to me in certain recipes in the future.

In other news, I lost about half a pound since last week. I did my measurements and found that I have lost about an inch all over since last month. Decent progress!

Fennel is an interesting vegetable. I'm still trying to figure out how I like it best. Putting the greens in salad is definitely yummy.

Congrats on the lost weight and inch! That is indeed decent progress.
