It had been happening to me - a lot!
I'd typically make myself follow strict diet/meal plan, which would make me miss 'bad food' so much that by the third day in to the week I'd binge on pretty much anything that wasn't on the plan.
I've found, through trial and error, that the best way to avoid this is to NOT restrict yourself of anything. More importantly, eat a very wide range of food! Same-old cottage cheese on rye bread every morning somehow takes the enjoyment out of eating, and we feel deprived. So, if you have cottage cheese on toast this morning, have porridge with honey and blueberries the next, and a poached egg with lean bacon and mushrooms the next! It's all about variety - at least for me it is.
Good luck!
