Make good use of your time!

I don't know how many members take the time to read the Healthy Reflections email, but today's was so timely it wasn't funny. I hope it's okay to include it in my blog this way, so hear goes...

"Are you paying attention to how your time is spent?

Days don't get shorter. Our attention spans do. How can summer be over in a blink while it seems like the weekend will never get here? Because we're not paying attention. Five days out of seven, we're waiting for something else to happen in the future, and we don't take advantage of the day that we hold in our pocket. Have you ever had someone ask what you did last week--or even yesterday--and had trouble coming up with an answer? You probably wouldn't have had any problem at all if your time were spent on something meaningful for you. Don't wait for tomorrow! Ignore the calendar and work with one day at a time. Fill that one day with stuff you'll pay attention to, the stuff that memories are made of. A little bit of focus will help you get rid of that hectic blur."

I have been spending a lot of time decluttering my environment/life as I continue stepping through the SP program. As I have been sifting through, each item falls into 1 of 3 categories: 1) Definite keepers; 2) Definite must-go; and 3) the all time elusive (and though I haven't actually caught them in the act, some reproducing) Not sure yet.

My last days have been trying to get throught the NOT SURE YET pile, it was getting bigger than I wanted. I thought I was taking on the easiest of that pile. I quickly went through the items surrounding exercises I want to try, but I'm not at the level that I can do them yet, so that was a no brainer. The remainder put me in what was so appropriately called a "hectic blur." I had been working on these items slowly because they aren't items you can do in a have to wait for responses before you can take the next step. From the outside looking in, you would never have suspected that I actually know that taking on too much reduces overall productivity.

Thank goodness for the calmness I've been able to achieve so far to recognize my error of my way. It's one day at a time, one step at a time and today I threw up the stop sign emoticon. I missed the peaceful time that comes from making good use of my here goes, back on track! emoticon emoticon emoticon
