Peachtree Roadrace Training Update

Today I ran 4.8 miles and could have run over 5 with ease. So I am definitely on track for 6.2 by July 4.

Still slow, but I don't care. My time is not important. I just want to finish without walking, and I think I will be able to do that.

I'm a bit frustrated at not losing any weight last week - I have 3 more lousy pounds to go to make it an even 50, and I can't seem to lose them....even though I have about 30 - 35 more to lose, even after that! I can't really cut my eating any lower. In fact, lately I have been hungry alot, which hasn't been the case all along. I am eating between 1300 and 1500 calories a day and that should be enough, I would think, since I am only 5'3". But I really hate being hungry....AND not losing any weight.

Still, I'm not going to let that deter me in my running program. I just have to believe that eventually I will start losing again.

    Great job with the running! You are definitely on track for July 4th. I love your attitude, that you're more concerned with just finishing, as opposed to being fast. Faster times will come with practice. The real victory comes with starting the race in the first place.

    And I agree with some previous comments-since you're running more, you may not be taking enough calories in. Tweak the calories up a little, and you may begin to see a loss again.

    Big kudos on the running.

    You might want to boost your calories just a bit with some fresh fruits/veggies and maybe a little extra lean protein. Your running might have you running at too much of a calorie deficit and your body is trying to hold on as much as it can.

    What DS9KIE said! When you've been exercising a lot, your body can go into food conservation mode if you don't feed it enough. SP has articles on it. That said, YOU ARE DOING GREAT ON THE RUNNING!
