Well I've been a member of this site since May 13, 2008. I wasn't all that active right after I joined, the site was a bit confusing for me at first. I joined a couple of teams, but I wasn't active in them. But then one of my friends Anna (CLADY326) sent me a sparkmail 1 day encouraging me to get a bit more active in the team that she was a Co-Leader of. I told her the site was a bit confusing to me, so she gave me a few pointers. Then shortly after that I slowly got active in the team, there were some challenges, that I took part in, they were fitness challenges, once I got into those challenges, it really got me motivated to keep going... I soon started to see some results as far as the #'s on the scales. But then come the holidays I slacked off BIG time, stopped posting, stop going to the team. Gained weight back and all that jazz. Well then on May 3rd of 2009 I got a bit active again, I started weighing myself, and measuring myself once or twice a month, I then started recording my weight loss in Microsoft Word so that I could go back and see my progress and encourage myself when I need the encouragement. Well lately, I've been a bit down about things, I've not been very active, I've been struggling to stay motivated to keep exercising daily, I get easily frustrated at myself now when I miss a few days of workout, but I don't let it keep me down. This week I've only worked out a couple of times, but I have gotten walking in every day, Monday - Friday, walking my son to school and then walking back to get him from school. Almost every morning instead of coming straight home, I go for a little longer of a walk.... about 1 mile, a little over. I'm trying to get the nerve up to make it a longer walk, I don't like walking by myself, so it takes me a while to talk myself into walking further. It took me several weeks to finally talk myself into walking the bit over 1 mile walk, lol.
ANYWAY, the whole point of this blog... I opened my word document this morning to record the last weigh in & measurement I did, which was May 3rd. I then was looking at all the other recordings I did over the last few yrs. I noticed that I had weighed in and measured on May 3rd, 2009 also. I looked at the difference and said WOW! Even though I didn't meet my goal of reaching 130 by the end of last month, that's ok! I'm still pressing on, I'm not letting it keep me down, I'm not dwelling on the fact that I did not meet my goal.
So, you wanna know and see the differences?
ARE YOU READY????
ARE YOU SURE?????
HERE THEY ARE.....
WAIT ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU WANNA KNOW????
OK, HERE YOU GO!
DUN.... DUN.... DUN....
AND THE VERDICT IS......
May 3, 2009 –
Weigh In: 150
Measurements: bust: 41, waist: 40, hips: 44, chest: 35
OH WAIT, DID I FORGET TO SHARE THE OTHER BIT OF THE VERDICT? I'M SORRY!
May 3, 2010 –
Weigh In: 134.6
Measurements: Waist: 33, Hips: 38.5, Chest: 31.5
I've still got a ways to go... My ultimate goal weight is between 120 lbs, BMI: 23.4 - 110 lbs, BMI: 21.5... it's a difficult road sometimes, but I'm not giving up and I'm never turning back!
It's best to go slow as a tortoise, rather than go speedy as a rabbit. Slow & steady meets the goal and keeps it off and maintained. Fast & speedy, weight comes off too fast & one is bound to get burnt out fast and gain it all right back just as speedily.
