yes, I am feeling discouraged today. I am in a Biggest Loser contest at work so I weighed in on Tuesday. Gained 4 pounds. My eating has been out of control, mostly just eating sugary food or going out to eat a lot. I haven't worked out in over a week. I'm not feeling sorry for myself at all, just wondering what it will take for me to stop these bad behaviors. I have an elliptical, treadmill, and all the weights I would ever need. I have bands, exercise balls, new tennis shoes and workout clothes. My machines are in front of a tv and I have music available too. So, why don't I exercise? I know that it is mostly just laziness, but that is a very hard vice to break (for me, anyway). I am completely addicted to sugar. I think I do know what changes I need to make, just not sure how to do it so that they are changes I can live with long term. i wonder what it is going to take to flip the switch....

It is normal to backslide a little bit. BUT DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED! The people on Spark will help you out. Think positive, plus it might help to keep fruit around that you like because it helps cure the sweet tooth. For me it was getting rid of those sugarary items. One other thing might help. Keep busy, people who keep busy have less time for thinking about sweets. But occasionally I still reach for something sweet. Remember everything in modoration and good luck on your journey. YOU CAN DO IT!! emoticon

It sure would be nice to have a nuritionist and a personal trainer at times like these, huh? I'm with you, girlie! Let me know if we can work together in some way... I'll try to think of something we can do together, too! emoticon

Hey, I have been there, too. Music works for me, it seems like I can't help but dance around a little... So does some better choices in the food dept., but that still taste sweet. I like those Snak Pack fat free puddings...and my favorite is the whole fruit bar from Edy's. The strawberry fruit bar is only 80 calories...keep a bunch in your freezer--even two of them are only 160 calories! And they take awhile to eat! Good luck, and hang in there!
