Week 19 – May WK1 Results

Friday, May 07, 2010

So I weighed in today and I lost 2lbs. I’ll wait until the end of the month to post my inches lost. I did great with keeping up my alternate days of lower/upper body and abs every day. Hey, I even snapped the resist-a-band while I was doing my overhead triceps. Now I have to find my dumbbells. It really felt good accomplishing my toning every day and then when I went to the gym I could just concentrate on cardio and burning calories. I really hadn’t really sweated at the gym like I have this week. I’d come home so happy because I knew that I’m on the right track.

My eating has also improved. It’s amazing what a few changes can go. My real test was when my hubby sent me an email and said “Do you and the princess want to meet me for lunch?” I’m thinking “Oh no tomorrow is WI day and I don’t want to mess it up.” So I suggest Applebee’s. I’d figure at least there I can order a weight watcher dish. (Side note, Applebee’s posts their nutritional info on-line. After looking at all of the dishes that I usually get, my jaw dropped.) Anyway, I got the WW Garlic Herb Chicken for 370 calories as I watched my hubby eat the buffalo wings, chicken taco and steak fajitas. I was totally jealous BUT I knew that I was keeping myself on plan.

So I’ve discovered where my weak point is. I find myself having a tendency to slack off on my toning. Meaning just doing 1 set or even compromising on the reps when it gets too hard and even just doing 2 exercises and saying that I did a complete workout. I have to stay the course. This was a great first week and I have to continue. Our vacation is May 27 and that date will be here before you know it.

On the baby front, my little daughter is 6 months. She’s doing well with her solids and this week we have worked on naptime. She really just fell asleep in my arms or I would rock her and I really couldn’t get anything completed. Now it’s down in her crib at 11 am and 3 pm. The first few days she cried for like 15-20 minutes but now she cries for a few seconds and then self soothes herself and falls to sleep. She’s usually in there for about 1 hour and I’ve become very good at getting a lot of things done in that time including my workout.

Tomorrow my hubby is taking me out for Mother’s Day at noon so I’m going to try to hit the gym in the morning. There is an 8am step class. If I can pump before she gets up, I can make it.

Have a healthy weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day. Last year I was pregnant so I guess this is my first official Mother’s Day

Great job on the 2 pounds and keeping to your program!! I've found myself suggesting restaurants that have nutritional info posted, too. It just gives me peace of mind.
