My Scale and Me

I have read many articles and many blogs about the relationship we have with the one measuring device that we often elevate to the status of the final judge of our success. I do use other measures ... how my clothes fit, what my energy level is, what i enter in my nutrition tracker.
All that said: I weight every single day i am home. It has taken a while to put the numbers in perspective. First of all, I use my Wii for the weigh in, so I am also checking my balance and coordination. I weigh at almost the same time every day before breakfast. The great thing about the Wii that finally shifted my attitude about the daily variation in my weight was to always check out the weight graph. I can see my variation based on a week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months or a year. When I go out to 2 weeks or 3 months, I can see that I am really maintaining my weight within about a 2-2.5 lb. range. I can that MAINTENANCE! So my scale has become my friend.

    I don't weigh daily, but I do weigh at least once a week. I only "count" the official weight I get at my meetings, which is kind of silly. I am a the point where there is very little variation in my numbers. So I pay much closer attention to the way my jeans fit. It works for me.
