So I've been doing a lot of thinking as to why I'm not seeing the results that I want too. Don't get me wrong I'm losing weight slowly and I'm seeing inches come off BUT I feel like I could be doing a lot more. I'm using a lot of excuses and that has just got to stop. I read others blogs and they are much much busier that me and they are able to dedicate to getting healthy and I'm kinda jealous of their results.
I've figured out that my main issue is the fact that I lost weight before and it was very easy BUT that was over 10 years ago and I have to get over that. I'm 36, married and a mother a 6 month old. Before I was single and 24 which meant that I could spend as much time as I wanted at the gym and was only eating for me. Now I have to balance my time with hubby and the baby and work and think about cooking for the family.
Yes I did it before and I CAN do it again but I know that it may be a bit harder this time around BUT it can be done. So I have come up with a new strategy for the month of May. At this point, I get to the gym 3 days a week and maybe once on the weekend. So at the gym, I'm dedicating that time to just cardio and I will do toning at home. I have all the resources I need at home to toning up. At this point, it's important to burn calories. So I will do one day of lower body and the next of upper body and abs everyday. I started this routine on Monday and so far so good. I also want to work in walks with the baby on my off days from the gym. I just have to make it a priority and I think that will happen once I get my little one on a nap schedule. She did great today so hopefully that will continue.
OK, I did it. I was afraid to blog my strategy because putting it out there means that now I have to be accountable. But I NEED the accountability so there is it. I'm hoping this new resolve will help. I wanted to be at prepregnancy by June 1 but I think 16lbs is unreasonable for the month but I would settle for 8-10lbs.
OK I feel better now that I put it out there. So let the games begin.
I'm also working on tweaking my eating. I need to work in more protein and less carbs. Also I want to eat most of my calories before dinner. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. This way I will be able to use the calories that I'm eating.
