"April" My Month Is Gone!

Saturday, May 01, 2010

I had a wonderful April, even though it has been rough in areas! Mom's sickness and my diabetes and other problems have been my struggles this month!

I feel like I have accomplished a milestone though! (1) This is the first month I have ever made 1000 fitness minutes even with my struggles emoticon.

What have I learned? (1) That persistence pays! (2) That even a swimming emoticon as slow as they are can do it, and so can anybody else that commits themselves! (3) That Spark People emoticon really care! They will be there for you when nobody else will emoticon! (3) That miracles happen daily if you look for them!

Progress made? (1) I had gained 3 of my 10 pounds back last month and had went into a emoticon! I wondered if I really had what it takes to accomplish anything! I have lost that 3 pounds (which I have finally realized were muscle, because I swim)! I have also lost 2 more to go with it! So I have lost a total of 12 pounds! (2) I can MOVE!!!! (3) My breathing problem is a lot better! I emoticon now without grasping for air!

Greatest Reward or Acknowledment? My son saying "Mom I can really tell what you have been doing is working. You can really move!"

Greatest Debt I'll Never Be Able to Repay? Spark People--Staff--Friends--and The Best Leaders of My Different Teams---Donna---Jeannie---and Rhonda they deserve a emoticon !

What May looks like for my goals: (1) It looks like another challenge from Rhonda and Jeannie to make me a little--- bit--- stronger! (2) Another day that I will have to lean on my wonderful friends to help me " Face my Giants!" (3) Another lesson learned, another muscle rubbbed with linament!

Yes, my month is gone, but God has shown me "I can do all things through Christ that Strengthens me!" Bring May on emoticon

    April,
I like how you have put the past month in perspective. I find that when I look back over a longer period of time like you have rather than just on a few days, it helps to see just how much I have improved. Way to to on getting 12#s off since starting spark & improving your overall physical strength. You are making emoticon progress towards reaching your goal. emoticon . I'm so proud of your determination to keep moving even with all the obstacles you may face ---we may not be able to jump over it but we sure can figure a way to manuever around it --whatever it takes to accomplish our goals. You are an inspiration my dear sparkfriend! emoticon

That is a really good way to assess your progress and outline what you are planning for the next month. And really good to see how far you've come - that's great motivation, that is. And YOU are doing so well. Turtle steps, but definitely progress! emoticon

    April,

No trophies needed just your getting healthy is more than enough!! You have had many struggles this past month yet you followed through on your commitment to yourself...YOU are truly inspirational! You are the one who deserves this emoticon and don't you forget it....lol

I am so pleased to see you acknowledge all of the hard work you put in. Notice that while you mentioned the scale your biggest victories were not scale related! YOU CAN MOVE and YOU CAN BREATH...there are no greater gifts to self than those two very important things that many take for granted.

I know that you will have another successful month in May...Because every month from here on out is YOUR MONTH...They are yours for the making and you have the Attitude, Dedication and Commitment to yourself to make them all successful!

Way to go on an amazing month

Oh April - I know that April is special but every month can be your month with your positive outlook on life. Woohoo - getting to 1000 fitness minutes - those are my killers, those are tough to get. Good for you! And the 5 pound loss bringing you to 12. Look at the difference that those 12 pounds have made in how you feel and your breathing - what a gift. And you are right (and it is what Jeanne says) consistency and persistence win the race. The day to day tough choices about what to eat and when to exercise - you made good choices. So here's to every month being a special month for you!!

    How is your mom doing?
