Chafing and other lessons learned

So after my 18+ mile run I notice that I had some pretty bad chafing. Not cool. So today on my way home I rewarded myself with a Body Glide stick. I can't use it until some of the spots heal, but I'm excited to try it out in the future. So that gets added to my pre-run to do list. My list is getting really long....

I also learned that my toes can start to hurt pretty bad, but my toenails stay on and haven't yet turned black. I guess that is an accomplishment.

I learned that I really can't judge distance (It was suppose to be 17 miles but I misjudged and went 18.63) but that's okay.

I learned that my husband rocks. Okay, I already knew that but he gave me another reason to appreciate him. 32 oz is not enough water for 18 miles, but my DH met me at the park with more water and lots of encouragement. Such a doll.

I learned that after running my legs feel really tired and a bit sore for the next day, but I don't "hurt." I really just feel like I worked really hard, not like I got beat up.

Overall a good run.

    I have found that good ol' Vasoline works better for me than the Body Glide. And cheaper =)

    I hate chaffing. The thing for me is that I never realize that I have chaffed until I get in the shower. The water hits it and YIKES!!!! I have a couple of spots that I use body glide, but every now and then a new spot pops up out of nowhere.

    awesome for you. Sounds like your hubby is very supportive. That is motivation in itself. I admire your run. Keep up the good work
