Letting others help you

Wednesday, November 15, 2006

After reading GOAL BUDDIES ARE know, that article about asking other people to help so you could achieve your goals, I was inspired! That day I told my deep water aerobic instructors that when I hit my first goal, I'm treating them to lunch. With that little promise, they all became enrolled in my success! I think the classes got more challenging and they pushed me and the class a little bit harder. And because I didn't want to make them wait forever for a 'thank-you-lunch', I would swim a few more minutes after class to burn a few more calories.
Well, I achieved my first goal - to lose 20 pounds by my birthday - and I have 4 wonderful lifeguards at my local pool to thank! Lunch is on me!!

    Hey Irishcurls!

I'm just peeking in on you to see how you're doing during this holiday season. Sounds like you are doing great! That's a fun idea, to motivate your aqua instructors, to work you harder! Sounds like it has paid off.
Tomorrow's my biirthday, and I can celebrate with the fact that I have FINALLY broken my plateau, AND..... have finally dipped below 140 lbs for the first time in almost 8 years! Anyway, congratulations on your 20 pound loss! Here's to continued commitment to our goals, and a very slimming 2007!
