I was feeling kind of defeated...

I was feeling kind of defeated... since I really got serious about living a healthy lifestyle, I've been walking around the outside of the mall on my lunch hours. I also try walk around my neighborhood before work. I've found if I can get those two walks in, I make 10,000 steps in a day and it works out to about 5k. Also getting both walks in before I get home from work, gives me time to still workout in addition to making dinner and whatever else I might have to do in the evenings. And, if I can't fit in a workout due to whatever, at least I've walked 5k!

Well... mall security frowns on people walking around the outside of their mall and has been hassling me.

So after speaking with the acting mall manager, who is definitely sympathetic to my situation, but can't do anything because the actual mall manager doesn't want people walking around the outside of the mall... I pouted for about 24 hours.

I felt defeated. It threw my system all outta whack. Plus yesterday was my weekly weigh in day and for the second week in a row, I was only down .4 pounds. I know... the scale is still moving in the right direction. But combined with my walking hassles, I was just feeling defeated.

I work in a very UNwalkable area. But I was determined to eek out a route and I did! Plus, it's a little longer than the mall... there are trees & birds & hills AND I think I will no longer have a 'windy' portion of my walk like I did at the mall.

From Defeated & UNmotivated & Cranky... to Energized & Motivated & Upbeat!

What a difference a day makes!
