I gave my conference presentation today, at 5 PM - several people I'd chatted with over the past few days showed up, plus one of the teachers from St Thomas - there were about 18 or 20 people total.
We had a little tech problem at first, but the tech guy came in, changed the preferences on my computer, and voila, my pictures showed up on the screen.
So I just ran the slideshow while I talked about how I did the mural last year, how I changed it for this year, how I incorporated reading, writing, math, social studies, etc into what we were doing. How the kids responded. How the school got involved. How people outside the school got involved.
I handed out my CDs with all of my lesson plans, slideshows, readings, and grant applications (since they were all for local agencies) - so no one will have to start from scratch.
So I got applause, people stayed late to ask questions and to chat, and I think it went well.
And then the three of us from the VI went out for dinner.
Oh - and I settled for looking professional in black linen slacks, white linen top with one of those 3-D embellished necklines that's trendy, and a black shrug. With red Birks for a pop of color. I think I looked like a very professional art teacher, LOL!
It was fun, except I'm not used to talking for 50 minutes at a time!!!!!!!!
