Ugh, Chocolate WHYYYYYY

This week has been not so great eating wise. I had a rough week and it totally came out in my eating. Boo on me for that. I'm regretting eating the things that I did. Whyyyyyyy

Lets recap

I had Wendys(2 double stacks, a small fry, and a chocolate cookie dough frosty), kitkats(probably 10 thus far, snack sized ones), about 5 fun sized Butterfingers, chocolate milk, cigarettes, wayyyyy more iced coffee than I need, etcetcetc.

Terrible

I feel terrible as a result.

Luckily we did go grocery shopping today. We bought strawberries, ground turkey, baby spinach, spring salad mix, mushrooms, eggs, deli meats, whole wheat bread, whole wheat english muffins, blackberries, kiwi, bananas, yogurt, chicken breasts, steamers, etc. However, I also bought said kit kats and butterfingers. Boo =/

These are our last cigarettes, I recognize how they make me feel and its the habit I need to break. I have an emotional attachment to them that needs to stop.

I need to clean tomorrow, do laundry, and get myself organized so I'm not going into the week blindly. This means planning out my meals and working on my exercise time.

This week kicked my butt. How do you all handle cravings? Chocolate cravings are taking me prisoner, I'm trying to break them. I usually combat them by not having chocolate in the house, but then I binge. Maybe I can work in a little chocolate everyday. Thats my plan, but it hasn't been working so far so I need a new approach.

I just needed to vent about how hard this week is and how much energy I absolutely DONT have.

    Lady you don't even WANT to know all the junk I ate this past week, it's embarassing! But that being said, the past week will have been a waste if you don't take something from this week and learn from it, tomorrow is a new day and that is probably the best part is we're allowed to start fresh again every morning.

    Did I mention I work in a coffee shop? Not only do we have all kinds of delicious drinks but also a wide variety of pastries and baked goods. Luckily I dont like most of them, but scones and drinks....help meeeeee.

    Normally I'm good at work. Its the drinks that get me.

    It is good to vent, get it all out!! maybe you should use chocolate once a week as a reward for staying on track, making good choices all week...just a suggestion, if you are anything like me trying to eliminate it completely will only make you want it more!

    Monica I feel your pain!!!! I have the same issue with chocolate treats! And Yum Butterfingers are my favorite!!!! I dont keep treats in the house now or even my oh so favorite Nutella.Yes I have issues with eating entire jars in one sitting!!I even tried the 100 calorie crap and ended up eating them all in a night anyway! But I will buy chocolate once a week or Ben and Jerry's but only one pint or one bar. It helps, its hard, but it gets easier. The thoughts of choco will come out of no where in the beginning though!     I totally understand where you are coming from with the chocolate. I can't give it up either.

    Can you bargain with yourself? Divide up the chocolate into small pieces and wrap each piece separately. Put them in the freezer. For each piece of chocolate you have, you must drink two glasses of water and brush your teeth. (You'll be so busy peeing that you won't have time to eat as much chocolate!!!). Get your hands busy doing something else - petting the dog or cat, writing a letter, needlework or knitting/crocheting, washing dishes, etc.

    Or chew gum, with a strong long-lasting flavour (I'm Canadian, thus that spelling of flavour).

    The food that you bought sounds good. Can you next time get some snack stuff - for example the little pkgs of mini Chips Ahoy. They have chocolate for the craving, and at least are in measured amounts.

    Also get mini carrots to munch on.

    All of the above works for me, but only sometimes. At least it's better than nothing.
